When You're Ready
Quiet silence
A moment, a breath
Breathe
Silence, the comfort and warmth
Or the void of all-consuming silence
Wait for the sound
Can you hear it?
The sound of your own voice
Talk and speak so you're never alone
Or never speak, for fear of change
Eyes that watch, hearts that close
For the chance of another knife
Anger, sadness, a cloud in the silence
Who are we to judge, to know?
Indifference, or contemplation
Thought and refuge, judge and jury
Do we withhold love for ourselves
Because if we feel, it means feeling everything
Wait
Giving up so soon only tarnishes
The hope of getting better
Secrets, pain, we all keep
Sometimes wandering lost,
