THAT'S NOT CREDITING THE ARTIST. STOP IT.

That's like someone using YOUR art that you've posted HERE on dA and saying, "Image from Deviantart." Not "Art by your-username on Deviantart"; just "Image from Deviantart."

That's a little upsetting, right?

Yeah. That's because it's not crediting you as the artist. It's just saying "Someone somewhere on the internet made this thing. Wasn't me, but I don't know who." Not giving credit - or giving credit improperly - is just as bad as stealing artwork.

So don't do it to other people!

Besides, simply grabbing an image from somewhere on the Internet doesn't mean that you have the artist's permission to use their artwork. This goes for photographs, too! (I'm looking at you, recent trend of "aesthetic adopts".)
