Stand Up For What You Believe In

When I was younger, I never believed that there was anything I really "stood" for. I felt like I didn't have a voice, and it didn't feel very good.

Over the past couple of years, I have come to realize that I have a great many beliefs that are very important to me. For the most part, these are things I have been learning in therapy: that I have worth; that each person has assertive rights; and generally just how to be the best person I can be. Things like how to be a "good person" are so absolutely, certainly, without a doubt, 100% true in my mind - and these are the things that I stand for.

These are the things that I make stamps about, in hopes of teaching others about these wonderful things. I think that in an ideal world, we would all strive to be the best people we can be. I think people would get along a lot better.

I was nervous to post these sorts of opinions at first because I was afraid of backlash, but now it's very important to me that I say these things. Because I believe they are true. My self-worth doesn't depend on other peoples' acceptance of my opinions, so if people dislike me for speaking out and if people unwatch me for it, it doesn't really matter to me. I am doing what I believe is right, and being happy with myself is the most important thing.

And that's something I want other people to believe, too. For me, the things I share, for the most part, aren't "controversial" opinions (such as religion or abortions) - because to me, those have grey areas, and I can understand all points of view. But a message about not bullying other people? There is no doubt in my mind about that. It's something that I firmly believe everyone should follow.

Just - if there's a cause you really believe in, say something about it. Don't be afraid.
